PS2V

Big machine features...yet affordable

• For engine block capacity, honing precision, ease of use, and rugged construction, the PS2V is the equal to the best power stroke cylinder hones on the market.
• Compare Price, however, and you'll see the PS2V costs only little more than the small, light-weight honing machines that can't match the PS2V's features or performance.
• With its ability to accept a wider range of blocks-and its faster floor to floor time-the PS2V lets you handle more jobs and earn a better margin on every one, and can produce higher quality work.
• Don't settle for any hone when you can afford a PS2V! It quickly recovers its purchase cost, and from then on, year after year, it continues to put more dollars in your pocket Accepts the widest range of work pieces
• Takes blocks as long as 42"-enough capacity for many diesel blocks
• 14" power stroke length-16" manual
• Hones 2.7" to 5.5" dia. with standard equipment (1.5"-7.0" with options)
• Variable stroke rate and hone RPM-matches all bore sizes
• Cradle indexed for precise alignment of in-line, and 60° or 90° V's

Infinitely variable hone speed and stroke rate

Produce the desired crosshatch for bores of any size The combination of variable hone speed and variable stroke rate allows total control of the crosshatch pattern. In addition, the geared motors maintain constant speed under all load conditions
Mechanical stroke with variable speed is smooth and powerful
Pneumatic or hydraulic stroke drives are jerky, and they slow down as the load increases. The PS2V uses a rugged, consistent mechanical drive system. A variable speed DC motor drives a crankshaft through a gear reduction box. Stroke drive is positive and dwell is precise.
Hone head gear drive with variable speed- easy to change while honing Belt drives have a limited range of speeds, are difficult to change, and can slip under load. The PS2V hone spindle is driven by a variable speed 2 HP AC motor through a gear reduction box. This design is trouble-free, gives positive drive, and allows infinite speed changes while honing.
PS2V has minimum variation from true vertical travel
The PS2V has a very long stroke, and since the block can be raised or lowered, the honing is always done in the center of the arc. When setting up, the jog-to bottom feature makes it easy to position the block at the proper height.
65 gallon sump and dual filters for cleaner honing oil
Large sump allows more time for settling assuring the cleanest honing oil. The filters are easy to change and are located inside the cabinet to eliminate any mess. The cabinet is made of 11-gauge steel plate for durability, and it has a heavy channel iron base.

Features

Massive hone head assembly-smooth traverse
The sturdy hone head assembly traverses on sealed linear bearings that rides on a 3" hardened and ground slide shaft.
Stroke setting-fast and easy
To set the proper length of stroke equals the length of the bore plus the top and bottom over stroking distance. The stroke adjustment mechanism is set to that number on the direct reading scale. Accurate stroke setting - every time.
Drain most auto blocks
Invert 180° to drain.
Clamps main bearings
Torque plates can be used for honing high performance blocks.
